    ESC water cooling

Do I need to add water cooling to the ESC in this setup?

    20" mono 2# total weight
    3650/2950kv Tacon motor
    5000/3s/25C battery
Hobby King 90A ESC 4A UBEC
    X627 prop perhaps

I know many boat setups I have seen here do not seem to have water cooled ESC's

    thanks

Who's to say; there are so many variables - cheap parts notwithstanding. That's a stout motor for a 20 inch boat. And while the motor won't be pushed hard, if you are going to be puttering around any - that is hard on a speed control. Do you have lots of disposable income, or are you on a limited budget? How long will you run it before bringing it in? Will you be cooling the motor? If so, why not plumb the esc too? How do you and lady luck get along? Truth is you could probably get away without it, for an unknown period of time. But IMO it is worth the effort to supply water cooling since there will be an abundance of it available. Cheap insurance!
