My favorite is carb or brake cleaner. Other similar engine degreasers should work as well.

Just did one, poured a cup or so of mineral spirits in a swirled it around, rinsed with laundry soap and water, doesn't smell like old oil at all, no problems with epoxy sticking so far.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

denatured or rubbing alcohol works very well and followed by one of the kitchen cleaners (i used fantastic).

          worked great for me.

Acetone can be hard on paint or polyester resins. It is OK if you're careful. but I've ruined a lot of plastic over the years.

Brake cleaner seems to work well on glass fibre without attacking it, I regulary degrease around the deck & hatch before taping hatch with no adverse effect at all.
