    HK Genesis set ups?

Just wondering what motor you guys are running? And also which cable/strut and prop? I have a 200amp SF ESC for it already. Do you think the stock motor will do ok running on 6S? Trying to get in the 50MPH range if possible. Thanks

The stock motor will definitely only handle 4s. Dump the motor, buy a Leopard 1500kv 4082 and a 45mm prop and you've got a 60mph boat on 6s.

Anybody else have any suggestions? I was taking the stock plastic prop off last night and noticed the flex shaft is two piece and kind of cheesy. What hardware do you guys recommend? Is there somewhere I can buy a package thats ready to bolt in? Thanks

you can drill out the strut and get a 3/16 bushing to put in it from ose store,,you will need to remove the OE liner from the stuffing tube so a .150 or .187(3/16) flexshaft will fit it, but i cant remember wich fits,, mine has a new Leopard 4074 2200kv motor and the SF 200a esc on 5s with a 45mm prop but i just installed the new motor and esc so havent tryed it yet but if you go to the boat building section you will see F1 has a Genesis rebuild thread with this stuff and it runs prity good!!!!!

I asked fightercat, he has a single drive coming in. When you upgrade motors, the prop shaft housing that the flex drive inserts into, nearly always rupture. In the meantime I would epoxy your current two piece drive. I did that and haven't had any problems.

How do you epoxy it? Just stick a dab inside the shaft and put them together? Just want to make sure so I don't screw it up lol. Thanks

What 6s battery brand will fit in these sponson hulls of the genesis? My 5S GENS ACE leave zero room for growth.

46.1mph. Genesis sanded bottom. Leopard 4074 1800kv. 180a ESC. Props both used during same run M445 and X642. Gens Ace 5S 25C 5300mah packs parallel. Stern side o batteries even with motor bearing.

Was hoping for 50+. The strut is about level with last transom platform.

Any ideas for more speed. Not sure what the guy before me had the timing set to...

Hey guys just an update, I have a 4082 Leopard going in with the swordfish 200A ESC. I also ordered a new one piece drive cable, a new strut and coupler for the motor from Fightercat. Hope to have everything running by this weekend if everything shows up this week. Would you guys run one single 5S 5000MAH battery or run it on two 4S2P packs? Trying to figure out the best battery combo for this setup as well. Thanks for the replies and help

If the 4074 1800kv is a y wind timing should be 15degrees, Couldnt find any specs on the 1800kv though. Also try raising the bottom of the strut 5-6mm above the bottom of the running surface.
