CEN Baja boss vs traxxas villain

First I am new to this forum and wanted to say hi......so HI!

I currently have a stock CEN Baja boss. I'm looking into picking up a villain ex. I'm having a debate on what to do. I want a fast boat that has good handling. I know the villain handles great in comparison to the Baja boss. Anyone have any incite? Also which would be the best to upgrade to get good speed and run time. anyone know of a good setup for the money on either boats....I'm leaning towards the Baja boss since i already have it. Thanks to all in advance!

    Welcome to OSE!

I love the boss 272. I posted a few years ago on ebays want it now site for one, but no replies. My brother-in-law has one with an SV27 power plant. It runs fast and well. If she were mine, I'd upgrade to a standard strut, an offset rudder, and better turnfins all on the UL-1 power!

...also, if you go brushless in her, get rid of that U-joint!

The u-joint definitely will go away....I'll look into those motors. I'm trying to learn all of this stuff all over again. Is there a good reason to go with LiPo vs NiMH? Thanks in advanced

Lipos will greatly improve performance over nimhs.

I have nothing but good memories of my villain ex. I upgraded the props, pinions and ran 4s 2p 4500s at 20c. It was now where near my brushless boats in pure performance....but ease of running and pure fun it was the best basher.

Basically, I guess I'm asking is it better for me to use my CEN Baja boss since in already have it and upgrade it or buy the villain and go from there?
