    Project super hawaii

Well i picked up a super hawaii on here that is new in the box. I want to mod it and put a new motor setup and that it in it. I don't know a ton about boats though. So what do you guys think would work good and be reliable. I know it is not new and the top end boats. I just have always wanted to mod one and i have the means to do so now. Would a setup from a supervee 27 work? Or is it to small of hardware for this big boat. Dont want or need a
40+mph boat. Just want a fun nice looking boat. i have searched and found some good stuff. Just trying to figure out the best way. Kind of want to
keep stock drive but kind of don't. I know gears for gear case are prob never to be found sooooo. I dont know. Any input would be awesome. Dont mind spending a bit of money on this thing. Just want a fun quick boat.

    Thanks

Save yourself a lot of headache and ditch the stock drive components. Those broke all the time even when we ran 1400 mAh nicad cells and 05 brushed motors. Club members who ran them were always waiting on parts. The manufacturer did offer a kit of stronger gears, but the outdrive still broke all the time. Plus the handling with the steerable drive was terrible once the boat was speeded up.

Install the SV27 motor and ESC with a flex cable drive, mount the strut and rudder on the transom as is commonly done with monos today. Keep the speed at or under ~35 mph and the boat should run very nicely for you. I still like the SH myself!

Fluid, thanks for the reply. Due to not knowing a bunch about boats. What hardware should i run. I have seen so many diff setups. OSE has some stuff. I just don't know what to use. I am confident with my rc experience and that i work on cars, boats, atv's and motorcycles for a living that i can do all of this. Just not sure what to use. Where should i mount the motor? I have ssen people mount it upfront by batteries and ty@tekin mounted a 550 in the back after glassing it it. I found a new one of these. So i want to do it once, The correct way. Any help is awesome.

Do you think all the hardware from a SV27 would work?

Yeah as Fluid pointed out, you'll want it mid 30's at most due to hull limitations, so am SV system with a mild prop would be nice. I threw a Feigao 5408xl in the NQD 37" version and it flew on 4s but was unstable at the top end.

You guys think a speedmaster stinger drive will be good on this thing? What do i have to do to get this type of drive on here? How am i gonna seal the big hole in the transom to put the smaller tube for a flex shaft through it? Not to sure how to do all of this.

Go to home depot and get and abs sign and cut it to fit then you can glue it to the inside of the transom. Speedmaster Stinger will work fine.

You think that over balsa wood?I was thinkin about epoxy a peace of shaped balsa to inside of transom. Then doing some glass matting on hull in back.

I actually put a T8 motor in my SH, 2000kV on 3S and it is way too fast still. It's bigger than a 550 motor and a LOT more torque, this thing will jump out of the water. I'm 10 packs on the stock outdrive and it is showing some wear but I'm gonna run it til it breaks, then figure out something else lol.
