    gps interference?

ok my gps read 59.2 after a solid run with my pursuit, now i think i have a good eye for speed since my boats arent extremely fast but i have hard time believing those numbers with my setup which is nowhere near a high end p-mono setup. now dont get me wrong i would love for those numbers to be correct but i thought i have read others that have had issues or i drove through a wormhole i live close enough to the bermuda triangle i guess

i did take the highway back to see if the gps did anything funny but it read correct, could any motor interference cause such drastic readings

It happened to me last month. I run consistantly between 43-45mph with my scale Miss U.S. (Forerunner 201 gps). Then one day I turned a 57. My pond isn't big enough to run 57. LOL. I aslo took the GPS on the highay and it functioned fine. I have no idea what happened.

I think what happens is the gps gets a gap of signal loss for some reason. And if it's making a track record it calculates point to point distance for speed. If a gap is between the points it sometimes calculates you moved faster to make up the distance.
This is just a guess from what I have noticed in all the gps devices I have played around with over the years.
