Which twin motor combo to use for the MHZ cat I have

I want to either use the 5692 1090kv x 2 on 6s, or 7s option one


or Option 2 scorpion 4035 800kv x 2 on 8s probably possibly 10s http://www.scorpionsystem.com/catalo...5/HK-4035-800/

I have escs for both motor setup and can go either way.

I have all I need for both except the props.

If u can make a recommendation that includes props for the combo u recommend that would be great!!

You'll want 8s for the Leo setup, 10s for the Scorp. Rpm is your friend... especially in a twin cat.
How fast do you want to go?

rumdog what can I expect from each? before starting this thread I was leaning toward the 2 scorpions because I thought they may be better made and would run cooler but hey what do I know!! lol

I really think that both are a bit too much motor for that hull. Guys are pushing the MHZ Mystic of the same size with 1515's and 1521's well into the 80's!

Ok as i said I have everything I need so I also have 1518s and 1520s and 1717s all three I can use since i have pairs of each.

Would a single 5292x1090 be better and not go twin or even the scorpion 4035 800 too as a single. The single is an easier setup 4 sure. Hardware well have it for twin or single setup too
I am just dieing to get started on this.

A guy on here is using two 1520's on 6s and hitting mid 70's. Don't what props though. A crazy rpm set up would be two 2200kv leopards or Neus on 6s.

Ok so 2 votes for the 1518s on 5s. Guess that is what I will do then. tnks for the help. Pretty excited about "drilling holes" in it this wk! Will still go ahead and get the 8mm coupler for the scorpion motors.

What is the size of the boat? You can run the 1518's on 6s safely. That is, if you want it to scream.

I'd run at least 6s on that guy. You won't be disappointed. The twins will "get away" with the rpm the 1518's will turn. Use 180amp speedos and big bullets for the connectors. I use 8mm on batts and 5.5's on the motor side. Use no less than 40c 5000mah packs. You'll see 80mph without going broke. Have egneg or dasboata work you up some props and you'll be set. ABC 1816-3 counter rotating props would be good for this set up.

If the motors all have the same mounting holes, they can be switched out, although your props and couplers would have to switch too

I am building a Graupner px-1 which is roughly same size. Going for 2 Turnigy T600 1400KV outrunners on 6s. Running them counter to each other to reduce torque roll. Since outrunners are torque monsters, probably running left and right handed 447's as a starting point.

Also have option of a third motor running in centre of hull thro a strudder, but suspect that it might be just too much. We'll see

Here's a video of the 43" MHZ Nomad with twin 1100kV outunners on 6S with Turnigy 120's turning 447's. Running in the mid 50's pullin about 80 amps a side. Faster, and the boat doesn't handle well. Then again, I don't know what your objectives are. This set up is fun and bulletproof. If you want straighline speed, that's a different matter.

I would highly recommend to laid carbon fiber for added strength, my 36" twin cat carbon-kevlar crash several times at 128km/h, no damaged on the boat except the rudder bracket got bended. My setup using 2x1515 1y, 2x180a esc's, 2x 6s lipo and 2 x 442 cr props.
