issues with trim tab placement/ need info

ok building my own motor mount turned out good and bad it made the hull more rigid but now placing my tabs where i wanted them is another thing. this is on a pursuit mono and i bought the same tabs like the rtr version and got some pics of where they installed theirs. i am going to have to butt the tabs up to the turnfins mounting bracket this puts the tabs 1 1/8" away from the center line of the prop.

    - is there a guide line of distance from the center of prop i am sure you dont want to be very close and not to far away?

-also will there be an issue being so close to the turnfins now, these are split tabs so i could bend the outside one up higher and work it down if need be maybe?

    thanks

i just put them where they fit well. i dont think there is an exact placement mathematically but i could be wrong. either way theyre there to help, not determine how the boat rides. i always start with them high and adjust the stinger first, then make my adjustments on the trim tabs based on turning and whether or not its walking. i do feel then 3 blade props dont cause the hull to torque as much. thats just me and my boat tho. its a titan 29.

...theyre there to help, not determine how the boat rides...
Actually trim tabs can easily determine how the hull rides. Most folks mount them too close to the bottom of the hull where they can negatively effect hull trim. They need to be mounted a minimum of 1/16" above the hull bottom to prevent unwanted transom lift and drag.

Where to mount them relative to the prop centerline? For split tabs you want the inboard tabs to be in the water when the boat is at full speed, they can be used to adjust the ride attitude running straight. The outer tabs can be used to adjust turning characteristics, they should be out of the water when the boat is running at full speed.

I realize they can determine ride... I guess I'm just trying to make a point not to ignore strut adjustment. That's just my personal preference to make the boat ride as well as possible then make slight adjustment to the tabs. I've got my Titan 29 gps at a consistent 48 mph and rides nicely. I'm just saying what works for me

i planned on mounting them 1/8 above the bottom not cause any drag and there pretty long, dana we about have the same setup and parts i wanted the tabs between the strut and turnfins, the problem i i am having mounting was that i made 2 stringers that butt up to the transom and was dead center of a mounting hole i was afraid if i drilled it would blow out and not grip so i am going to drill it and run a 6-32 screw epoxy and back the trim tab with a nut its only the inner mounting hole, i always figure this stuff out in the morning

            thanks guys
