    Just ordered a Impulse31 !!!

    Hello everyone!!
I am new to RC boats and after much reading and researching I just hit the "Buy It Now" button on a new Proboat Impulse31!!! I am super stoked and kinda feel like the first rc truck I bought (pretty much wanted to puke over the price tag but first squeeze of the trigger it all went away!) LOL. Anyways I talked to the shop I ordered from and he said he was just notified today that they were on the way he was notified that his stock order was filled and shipped and he is expecting it tomorrow or saturday and then he would have it on it's way to me!
I know nothing about rc boats(which makes it all the more exciting) and I understand that rc trucks have nothing to do with boats and I know how to use the search feature on this forum but does anyone have any basic newb tips and suggestions? Do I have to do any prep to the boat before it's maiden voyage? What I have ordered so far is this:

    Proboat Impulse31

    2- 2cell 5000mah 40c lipo batteries

    5.5mm bullet connectors

I still have a little play money so what else do I need to order to make sure I have a good start into this side of the hobby? IE. Guess I need hatch tape! Anything else?

For retrieval I have bought a emotions mojo angler fishing kayak so I am good there....just concerned about the little things.....props,flex shafts, grease, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

That's the one. I have a stiletto with the same esc as the impulse and that works just fine

Cool! Man am I excited! OK and I know that anything RC should be gone over and tightened up before each run but what about before the very first(maiden)? I read about the bathtub trick to check for leaks....is there any kind of initial prep work that needs to be done?

I'm no expert compared to some of the guys on here but I would be doing the bath check, greasing the flex shaft and before you run make sure the hatch is well and truly taped up. Then go enjoy. If I have missed anything I'm sure the gurus will let you know

And I believe it comes with the Deans connectors but then I had seen someone talking about going with 5.5 bullets? Is that on everything? Battery to esc to?

The deans will do the job but I personally use ec5 on everything.

The impulse should be pretty much tape free. Get yourself a nice prop. Try a X442 or M445.

Don't forget to go over the fasteners and add a dab of blue Locktite.

Got the blue Locktite! Props I will look at now but I am as new as new can get with boats....I just sold my brushless revo and a bunch of other truck stuff to buy a new kayak and this Impulse. I have been doing a bunch of reading and asking and this boat will be like my first truck (Traxxas Rustler VXL ) From that truck....I learned how to build My wife supports all this and she loves to see me excited about new stuff but she just got done with a 3 year travel thru Rc Truck addicition and she can see it in my eyes

So back to props! Will I have a wide selection of props with this set up?Can't lie....I wanna go fast but I know to watch temps. Off to find info on props! Thanks everyone!
