    2.5 quick questions

    both esc questions.
    1. does the suppo ESC have enough caps? I noticed they are only 270uF. I am running it on 5S, outrunner motor if that helps.
1.5. Can caps be mixed? in other words, can I add 1000uF caps (4 of them) to the 270uF caps already there? I don't really want to do major surgery.
2.on 5S, is a no spark resistor necessary? I know it is a possibility but I'm not in the mood to add on stuff that isn't required.
edit: this is the suppo 200A LV.

    1. add caps
1.5 you can add those caps
2 would be better with anti spark.

    3. keep the esc as cool as possible!!!!!!!
    4. program it with 2-3S max. that thing gets HOT quick while programming!!!!!!!!!

yeah, I already programmed it in stages, siphoning water through the controller after each stage.
can you explain the advantages of having an anti spark? i know, well there's no spark, but what problem is the spark?

I run the Hi Model GX 200A 8s version with BEC & have never had a problem with them. Never added caps. Never blown one up & certainly never had one heat up on the bench while programming them on 4s.
I also use the BEC on all of them.
I've seen a few of those Suppo ones have all of those problems though at our club.
I race them on 4s1p & am pulling over 140A in the Hydro & around 125 in a mono.
If your driving style is on & off the throttle for the whole run then you may well need to add caps. I keep the throttle squeezed for the whole race corners as well as the straights if I can.
        On 5s I don't know. I consider them to be a 4s 150A ESC at best.
        All the best.
        Paul.

alright, I'll pick up some more shrink since I already covered it (ugh) and add the caps. I do have an on/off driving style especially since I do fast straights and sharp corners.
