That's how you do it. Keep your wrenches close together and lean the ends towards each other to get a similar centerline on them. You get more torque with them and keep the pressure where it needs to be. If I confused you, I'll text you a pic tomorrow after work.

So I thought I shredded the flex cable on my Genesis. The portion of the drive shaft that the flex cable inserts split. Where can I get a replacement drive shaft for a Genesis?

NO! I had the same problem because it was my first boat with a two piece cable. You have to take the strut off before you can take the cable out. The strut and the prop stay together.

If the collet is between the motor shaft & flex drive the above answer is correct. But, if it's held to the motor shaft with a set screw, you can force it off the shaft with a pair of dykes (wire cutting pliers). The wedge shape & a little wiggling & careful prying will loosen it up nicely. Don't whack the motor shaft or you may screw it up. If you have a stuck rear dirve collet w/set screws, or a prop drive dog, or prop, I slide a small crescent wrench (set a bit larger than the flex/drive shaft) and tap it off by tapping the crescent wrench with a small brass or plastic hammer. Just be careful to not whack the blades if removing a stuck prop. JIM
