    Think about this one

After watching this clip I am staying further away from the water.

I saw that just the other night. That gentleman has a TON of money in these boats. He must be a member of one of these forums. I especially like his catamaran vids.

Looks like it was overpowered and the conditions were less than optimal for running to me

You can hear the propeller still spinning as it flies toward him. What did he say? Did the prop or rudder cut anyone?

Remember, RC boats are essentially semi guided missiles, a bit of air, a wave hit the wrong way and the are out of control.... and where they stop, no-one really knows. It can happen to the best drivers.......

Thats why insurance is highly recommended.

i don't think it is how near you are to the water.

the boat should be run off shore not all that close, That angle is deceiving.
running a boat that fast so close to you is dumb. if you run it farther away from the shore you can avoid it all together, if you have something that happened like that in the middle of the lake. Nothing but a tiny water bug might get hurt.
You say " i'm gona stand farther back from the shore now". . . . well are you going to tell that to ever one and his dog when they walk by to have a look ?

As a matter of fact I do that now already if some one gets to close. Not just to the water either, when I'm launching or retrieving also. I am not Mr. personality when I'm @ the lake for a reason. So people don't hang around. I try not to let on lookers by my truck or with in 10 or 15 feet of me when I'm driving. Why??? Because I don't have insurance. Letting some one reach in and touch something in the truck or boat is out of the question. If I am a bad ambassador for the hobby then so be it. 99% of the time when the costs are addressed people lose interest anyway. I do my PR work here. I don't like to be bothered when I am enjoying my boats.

there is a reason for having the course a min of 50' from shore and or a catch fence... and I have seen folks running way to close to shore as well.
Still waiting for my boat to come in.it came in
