    D19 H20 Gassers Benefit FE P-Mono Race

[Moderator(s) - I hope I'm putting this in the correct sub-forum - please move if not- Thanks, Tony]

The H20 Gassers were nice enough to again allow an FE Exibition Class to run at their event. Six SoCal FE entries signed up : Naveed(Arowana), Johnny{Knightmoto}( Delta Force 33), Boyd (Cyberstorm32), Tyler(Delta Force 33). Mark F (IB 34), and myself(IB 34). Great racing, in spite of the gasserwater which wasn't all that bad today. Johnny and Boyd had newcomer gremlins, their boats were tuned for top speed-not survivability and only ran some of the four rounds. Naveed was his usual steady and consistant self and found his pace after I gave him 12 ounces of lead ballast for his lightweight Arowana. Tyler's DF 33 was smokin fast but kept doing some pesky 360's as it pirouetted down the straights. Mark's ultra-quick IB 34 with the 2400KV 1527 needed some carefull throttling to keep it shiny side up in the gasserwater. I propped down after the first round to keep the slingshot-accelerating IB 34 with the 450/3 from leaping out of the water and found my pace.

Round three I was ready to rock. I went for a lane one start but Tyler's yellow DF33 beat me to it and I kept trying to get inside him but couldn't. He was way fast but lost it on the front straight and I passed him rolling with half to three quarter throttle. He shouted : " I'm comin' to get Ya' Tony" but he did some more front straightaway ballet and went belly up. Mark was smokin' the course but nailed a buoy and got a one lap penalty so I just needed to finish ahead of him even though he was intent on lapping me. On lap four Mark was coming up like gangbusters on my inside so I went wide in turn one letting him pass. I took the first place finish by surviving and listening to my Insane Mob pitman Steve L., although I nearly screwed up by (almost) cutting the course instead of the required cooldown lap :

The last of four heats I had a solid second behind Mark's boat once Tyler practiced some more dance moves until the electro-gremlins showed up and slowed Mark to a crawl (not sure what got him, but I suspect it rhymes with Hassle). I took the win, and won the class with 2 Firsts, a Second, and a DNF. Mark took Second in Class with two Firsts, a fourth, and a DNF. I'm not sure, but I think Naveed took Third in Class, but it might have been Tyler. A great day of racing, and a nice finish for Insane Boats with First & Second place Class Wins. Kudos to Mark and Tyler for fielding some fast iron and skilled driving, Naveed for his consistancy, and Johnny and Boyd for their valient efforts .

    Tony,

Congrats to you and Mark on the First and Second place overall for P-mono.
Are you guys still racing LSH tomorrow and if so do you roughly know what time? I am going to try to make it over to Legg Lake tomorrow and I want to make sure I don't miss it.

    Hopefully see you tomorrow.

Hey Tony! Thanks for posting the great vids of the race! We gotta get someone here in D.12 to take some race footage...all I have are pics..lol! Great to see the gas guys opening their arms to the P-Mono gang. I'm sure some of the gas guys out there have been thinking about getting into FE boats.

Congrats on your win...Keep up the good work!

            Hi Kent,

Thanks for noticing Actually there's already about a half dozen IC guys getting into FE as a supplement to their fleets and the plan is to grow that number !
Seems like D12 also cross-pollinates their races as well; just read the results of the weekend there & lots of FE action. Good Job & Congrats to all
