Got the Genesis running, 1250kv leopard X445 prop and T180 esc. Getting low to mid 50's. The problem I'm having is the boat has a constant pull to the right, even if I trim the rudder favoring left turning. Is it just the torque of the motor digging one sponson into the water?

Yeah it will if he is using the same rudder as what comes on the boat. The only thing i could come up with was that the water is hitting into the rudder bracket during turns, after lowering the strut the the x442 that i was using it started to handle a lot betterComment

took mine out for its' maiden voyage today (Fightercat Daytona) and it pulls to the right also.
am going to shim the strut to the left (like an outboard turning left) to get it to run straight.
tried raising the strut, a bit better, but worse in turns.
lowered the strut, problem worsened a bit more.
using CC1520 on 6S power. 642 prop. runs great tho and was chasing after one of the 40 nitro riggers with it today. :-)Comment

I had this problem with my Rico when trying to dial it in...Don Ferrette finally pointed out that the steering servo did not have enough torque or was on it's way out....changed to a servo with more torque and...wallah!!...problem fixed instantly and has NEVER come back!!
P.S. Make sure to at least use a 4/40 steering rod also....
