Does an ICE 160 require a Pistix?

I've got an ICE 160 HV and I'm trying to get it to arm with a pistol grip. It's arming, but only at full reverse. Wondering if there's a way to get it to arm with the 70/30 position.

Yes, I have one in my 1/8 scale hydro on 10S. You will need a pistix for the esc to work properly with pistol style tx.

I wonder if I can modify the springs on the trigger on the Tx... Hmmm. Since I have a few... might be worth a try... Going to give it a try. =)

I can get it to arm by holding the trigger on the ESC, so this might just work.

Done! Modified the trigger cam on the Tx to keep the trigger at the lowest point. It's a one way mod, but works like a charm.

If anyone wants info on this mod, let me know. It was on the Traxxas link 2.4ghz black Tx from an E-Maxx. I'm sure it would work on any of the traxxas pistol grips too.

        Game on! =)

there is even an easier way. A simple rubber band. then you can still use the tx for other boats.

Cool, Yeah, that's certainly a way to get by in a pinch too! I've done that while bench testing some air ESC's.

Just don't use an old rubber band! (defaulting to 50% throttle on a bench test can make some really nasty sounds. )
