    striped srews

    how to get them out. there the ones on the sv27 grim racer crow lock. any help asap. want to run the boat Friday.

    If it was me... i would drill them out and re-tap the threads (if any) on the surrounds surfaces they screwed into, If they bolt through and nutted on the end then just drill them out and use a better quality screw next time.

    But there is another way to remove screws with stripped heads, which is a screw extractor (most good hardwear stores sell them) drill the head of the screw/bolt and slip one in, take a spanner of the right size and simple undo the screw the 'threads' on the screw extractor dig into the actual screw and remove it without damage to the surrounding areas.

      If your able just file or cut a slot on the head and use a regular screw driver to remve the screw

        Crow Lock? What is that? Which screws are you talking about?

          got them out. they where rusted to the lock put a rubber band and put it across the head of the screw and pressed hard with my screw driver.
