    Etti Exiga mono

    I have been running this 31" Mono on a etti 7s esc 150A 4s set up using a Leopard 3665 2300kv motor with a x42 prop
I think its running around 50 mph according to the OSE motor calc?
may be tempeded to change to a 6s motor setup to gain more noticeable speed but a little worried as to what motor and prop size to use to get a big performance improvement. I would be happy at 60 mph+
looking at the OSE calc some 6's setups are working out at the same speed or less, or at the best 2 to 4 mph faster using a x42 prop im not sure on prop size for 6's. this may be my problem!
can any one advise me on a good motor size and prop size before I waste any more money on wrong setups

    thanks in advance

    Sam

I would try a 5S pack on this same motor first, with a 40mm prop. If temperatures are ok, you can go up to 42mm. I have a 4S setup on 2200kv (Leopard 3674), and it was a different boat by going up to 5S...
Another thing is that you can find 5S packs which are Naviga legal for racing. The best so far is the Turnigy Nanotech 4500mAh, well within the legal weight.
Next step would be to go in the Leopard 40mm range, maybe just a classic 4074 2150 on 5S or 6S. It all depends on budget and race limitation (if you care about it...).

Thanks for the quick reply and advise
just using this boat for fun really no competitions rules apply

how about me using a Turnigy Nanotech 4500mAh 3s that I already have, and great lipos (imo) along with a 2s 4500 Turnigy Nanotech 4500mAh 5s in total and running a 39 mm prop that I have already
would just need to buy a 2s 4500 ,but would that be a total rpm of 42,550 kv on 5s is that a bit high for a mono would the 150A esc hold up

I know you allready have the batteries so maybe this wont help, I also use Turnigy Nano Tech 3s 45c-90c & thought they were very good indeed over the 25c that i was using. They gave higher speeds & much faster excelleration torque rolling the boat if not carefull on take off. Ive now started using the new Overlander Extreme Pro 3s 60c-80c, The boat now feels slow on the Nano techs & i only use them as a back up once ive used my 60c ones up. These new Overlanders are very good indeed & are winning lots of aircraft speed events with them. I believe the British speed team now use these as well to great affect. Martin.
