    XPS? (extreme power systems)

I saw an ad on RC groups for extreme power systems. they seem to have some really nice batts. a 65/90C 4000mah 5S for 95$ is a pretty good deal
has anyone worked with them? do they live up to their words?
heres a link to them http://www.xtremepowersystems.net
free advertising for them i guess.

Just caught this. These are 65C/90C batteries. The Thunderpower "65C" batteries are 65C/130C batteries. Therein lies the difference. Still, not bad (if they're for real) for the price.

yeah, noticed that too. I don't think many setups pull 130C bursts, at least nothing i've ever run, and the price isn't bad, the thunder power equiv would go over 200$, they don't sell 5S, but the 4S is 180$

Scott and Jim at XPS are stand up guys! Very honest and put out good products. The price of the batteries does seem rather cheap though!

Sailr have you tried them? I think I may this build or maybe next one.
They need to put out a high amp ESC line, don't seem to be any middle- lower class ESC's over 200A Ben shoulda held on to the suppo's

No, I haven't but I know the guys and would trust them. I have also heard others speaking well of their batteries. Regarding Suppo? No comment. Unless they have improved tremendously I wouldn"t want one personally.

I'm getting the kit for 20$ from a guy here so might as well, it can't hurt getting a 200A esc for 20 bucks.
I just feel that the only good ESC is the 300$ castle one, just too much for my budget.

                  Nobody should hold onto Suppos.

Have you heard of a Swordfish 200 amp esc for around $100? Save yourself the headache and pass on the Suppo.

I didn't know they were so bad, seeing the comments coming up on here, I guess i'll have to get a swordfish. I still want the suppo becasue it comes with a no spark kit and a cooling plate, usable if it doesn't turn out.
I might get a 5S pack and split it into 3S and 2S, never done that, it would get interesting. I have worked with Nicad and Nimh, I'd like to see what's in a lipo. maybe i'll practice on an old pack, desolder, solder, desolder, solder and so on until I get it right.

I have been racing with Jim Drew of XPS for over 10 yrs...Very stand-up guy and I would never run anything but his products..he has some new electronics coming out that will blow your mind too...

Have you looked into the receivers that they have as well?

Boater guy I have done a lot of work with lipos for myself and other people making custom packs tabs are crimped and soldered it is not too smart to play around soldering and desoldering lipos for fun if u have never worked with them before it is no where near nimh and nicad totally different inside but if u need to find out be careful

is it normal that batteries cant\shouldent be fully charged for more then a few hours ?

the warning on exstreme power system battery page.
"WARNING!! LIPO BATTERIES CAN NOT BE STORED IN A CHARGED STATE FOR MORE THAN A FEW HOURS OR THEY WILL BEGIN TO SWELL. STORE ALL LIPOS AT NO MORE THAN 3.75v PER CELL."
