Question about which Motor / ESC to use for a Boat

I have a Robbe Blue Marine MK II, it is a 32" V hull
boat. It comes with a Super 600 22k Brushed motor, nothing else.
Here is an ebay listing for it...

I am looking to upgrade to a fast Brushless electric motor and a
waterproof, watercooled ESC. my Radio is a FlySky FS-GT2 2.4G 2CH Gun
Transmitter w/Receiver and a 5g mini servo. I think i will be running a Lion battery due to all the bad things i heard about Lipo's and i am a new to this and dont want to burn my house down.
Please advise if you know what Motor/ESC/Batteries i need. I am looking to do this as cheap as possible as i am just a beginner.
I was thinking of this for a motor...Tacon Brushless Motor LBP3674-B/5D-1300KV For 800mm to 1000mm Boats.
I want it to be reliable and not melt on me.
    thanks

I don't think a 5 gram mini servo is going to be enough. I would go with a standard servo at least 5kg. Before you pick your motor you need to decide what voltage you are going to run. Honestly I don't understand what all the worry about lipo is. If you understand what you are doing and use the correct charger and equip your rigs with low voltage cutoff your good to go. If your really concerned get a lipo bag. But honestly I would run lipo. Next thing would be to see if your drive gear can handle lipo power. Then go from there.

i have a bunch of lion packs from a123, the problem is, they dont provide enough voltage to run my boats, the lvc kicks in way too early. just my experience.

BTW I'm selling a 3660 1640kv motor w/cooling sleeve that might work nicely for what your trying to accomplish. Brand new never ran. Its in the for sale section. $40 shipped...

i just bought the tacon 3674 1900kv from hobby parts. nice motor. good for 4 and 5s. 1300kv will need at least 6s to get any decent speed imo

really? the mini 5g couldnt handle the steering? ok np.
I heard that if you store the Lipo's and dont keep them at a safe voltage they can blowup, and so many accounts of people burning there house down due to them.
How would i know what voltage i am gonna run? i thought u pick the motor first?
And how do i know if it drive can handle it, i would just try it and if it breaks then upgrade?

Lipos aren't anything to be afraid of. Just don't do stupid stuff like try to charge dead cells. Most accidents happen when people are abusing them. Lion just aren't as good. You might as well just use Nimh packs

Well i wouldnt know if a cell was dead, so hence the reason to stay away from them, but are Nimh better than LiOn?

You're charger tells you if it's dead. Simple. Like I said, I have 12 brand new 2s lion packs that just won't work in my boats. They are oddly sized too. Nimh are ok.

You hear about fatal car accidents all the time but still drive don't you? The number of people who own lipos without burning the house down far exceeds the number of times it has happened.... Just sayin

Everything has its drawbacks. Most of the time I hear about bad stuff happening with lipo batts its because people are being stupid about it. Educate youself on them and be cautious and you have nothing to worry about. But if you can't bring yourself to use lipo nimh would be the next best in my book.

As far as how much your rig can handle... well yeah trial and error is one way. Looks like its all plastic, I would not push it too much over 3s voltage. NOT trying to sound like a salesman but the motor I'm selling would be good for your rig.

Oh and that 5g mini servo is more for a plane/chopper/smaller scale application. I would deff use a standard size servo on a 32 inch boat.

I hear ya good point, but burning down my house is just crazy and scares the hell out of me, i dont want to be the one in a million, lol.

So what size is a standard servo?
Thanks for the offer on the motor but i would like new if i have to return it for any reason.
So Ok for now i will stick with Nimh and would like to keep my options open for Lipo's, whatever ESC i get.
With that motor what ESC would be a good combo, i was told to get a 120amp water cooled. Give me the options on both Nimh, and Lipo.
                          Should i change the motor?

120 amp should be fine. Make sure the esc you get has the option for both lipo and nimh otherwise the lvc will give you problems with the nimh. If your running nimh I would run at least 12 cell (14.4v). 1300kv is a little low for that voltage, not going to get too much rpm.

Ok for the ESC it does do both batteries, but what is LVC? when u say 12cell do you mean (2) 6c Nimh at 7.2v? If i was going to use Lipo's what battery choice would i go with?
Is the 1300 motor a good choice then, cuz they said this motor is used for boats 800mm to 1000mm in length. If this was your boat what Motor/ESC/battery would you go with?
And what is a Standard size servo, someone said 50kg, but i dont see them?
