To Ferrite or to not Ferrite?

One of my ESC's came from the MFG with a ferrite ring on the RX cable. I would normally not add one, but since the MFG took the added cost to install one, I wonder if I should leave it in place?

    Thoughts anyone?

They are used for RFI supression. If it were me, I would leave it alone.

well unless you really need the additional length that you would gain from removing it... I would just leave it.

Well maybe I havemt run into problems because I am on dss. One of the main reasons I remove is for wire managment. It's easer to tuck & hide them under things.

It will block noise from going either way down the cable. Helps reduce glitching.

Kind of like the filters we used to put on your car AM radio power wires to reduce the engine electrical interference. Leave it.

The original OEMRC HV esc did not have one. All the latest have a ring. I wonder why?...leave it on

FS, I had a OEMRC HV controller die on me this week. I had been running the same setup for months. All temps were normal and the prop shaft was not binding. One of the fets just decided to pop it's top while out on the water. Atleast it was only $100.00. I am looking for one like it, but has 4 capacitors. Does anyone know where to find one?
