    My OSE Cooling Jacket Broke!

I was running my Spartan the other day and its been running great on 6s with all the cooling mods. I have an OSE cooling jacket and the other day after running it I went to pull off the enlarged cooling tubes to drain everything out. As I pulled it off the outlet on the jacket pulled out of the hole. I tried to stick it back in to try and get another run but it leaked very badly so I called it a day.

    What should I do?

    Here are some pics:

Thanks guys, hopefully i can get it fixed somehow!

Clean and lightly sand the brass tube and use Locktite 603 and put her back in the can. Mine did the same thing. Quick, easy fix, and it won't be coming back out anytime soon.

I'd yank the other tube out and do the same thing.

It's not "red" Locktite, its retaining compound. Totally different all together. Look in the OSE store for it. I think its in the building supplies section. Your regular red Locktite will do nothing to fix your jacket.

Yep I had the same thing happen, there's a warning about those.

CA/ super glue works OK, but I later found that what looked fixed was the source of a leak.
Epoxy works great so far, I'll post pics later.

                Just a note...
Please don't use the jacket outlets as leverage in twisting the jacket around on the motor, even if you just installed it and it moves well. This will only weaken the joint and the next time there is force upon the outlet (like removing the tube) it will let go.

I'm NOT saying that's what happened here.

These tubes are only lightly glued in place. When mine have pulled out, I've used some JB-Weld to glue them back in place. Seems to hold up just fine...

I like these cooling jackets because they are VERY light-weight, and not overly large in diameter.

Whatever you use, be SURE to not get any inside the tube. Be sure water can flow freely through the jacket. I like Darin's idea of JB Weld.

Darin beat me to it but I used JB-Weld on mine as well, still holding fine no leaks. Just roughed up the brass.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

                            JB does sound better

replaced the brass because it was covered in ca and I had aluminum on hand at the time.

Yeah man! I initially got it to run down at the beach, which is salt water. But when i went to the local pond to test it, i realized the pond was perfect for running so im gonna keep it out of the salt. But it's been running surprisingly good on 6s, my motor temps have been around 140. Now i just gotta get her setup good!
