    A question about chargers.

One of my chargers has a fixed charge rate of 4A and auto delta peak cut-off to trickle.
The instruction sheet that came with it says the charger is good up to 4000mAh batteries. That’s o.k as my best are 3300’s
One of my other chargers says up to 2000mAh as it only has a fixed rate of 2A before peak. Good for my 1500 and 2000 packs.

Long story short. I have been offered a great charger at a good price that has variable rate of charge from 0.5 to 5A but the packet says the unit is suitable for up to 3000mAh packs only. Although it is good for 4 – 24 cells which is why I want it so I can charge my 12 cells together for the 700 mono.

So at long last here is the question.
Can I charge a 3300mAh pack on a charger that says “up to 3000mAh” even though it will charge at 5A.

I would think yes, but wait until someone that knows chimes in before you do it.
The Manx has been sitting dormant, but I think I finally have my motivation back. I hope to see it float soon.

Most batteries like to be charged @ 1c. for example 3300 is charged @ 3.3 amps. That's 1c.Your charger will handle that. The problem you may run into is you chager having a limit of 3000mah is that it will false peak @ it's maximum limit. So your 3300 may only be charged to 3000mah. A loop hole may be to let it trickle for a few hours after it peaks. A few hundres miliamps will not really make a diffrence on the water. If you plan on higher capacity packs in the future you will want to upgrade. That's just my educated guss anyway.
