    LED lighting mods

Does anyone have any info or directions on setting up some LED mods for thier boats? I've seen some very cool videos and pics of them but cant seem to find any "how to's". Any advice or directives would be great!

Above, maybe some rear mounted with port and starboard lights. Found some kits for blinkers on rc-lights.com but really wanted to be steady unless its not practical.

It's really not that hard to do as long as you can solder wires together. Most of the Led's are available off ebay, electronic stores like radio shack, and even some can be salvaged from other electronics. I'll post some pics of what I've done later today or tomorrow to give you ideas for boats. Using lights on a boat at night adds another dimension to boating plus it looks cool to boot.

I have been doing it for years with my scale boats (and one FE)
Here's a pic from my album.
Look closely, you can see the green and red (port-starboard lights) and the lights on in the bridge (wheelhouse)

            In the tub, lit up

PM me and I'll feed you all the info you need

Quick question, how are you plugging the LEDs in? Are you using a 3rd channel on your receiver?

I have a 2 channel receiver and was hoping to use the BAT slot, but don't think it will work.

That's awesome! Are they visible in the daylight?

The channel question depends entirely on how you want them to work. If you notice in the video, the spot light is on a seperate channel to be turned on and off.
The batt slot will not give you enough power to run multiples.
In the day, they are plenty visible.
Visiblity is measured in both intensity (MCD) and viewing angle.
Average LED's have an MCD of about 800
Radio shack has what they call "High brightness" LED's with an MCD of 7,000 (which is good)
The ones I use have an MCD of up to 18,000
Keep in mind the viewing angle, The brighter the MCD, typically lessens the viewing angle.
Yes they do make a 360 degree viewing angle LED
