    1521 1y on 6s?

Just wondering if anyone has tried this yet? I may try this on a tunnel hull but I am not sure if the motor and hydra 240 will live. What are your thoughts?

The 1Y 1521 at 35k has been run by quite a few folks with great success. Its a very decent motor on 6S. If memory serves me right Ken Joye set a record on that setup. Lots of power even for hulls up to 40". Its the speedo you have to be carefull of. A CC hydra 240lv is going to be problematic. Its been done. But you need to run low amps, like in the 140/160 max range, and have one very well performing lv240. I have 4 or 5 of them. All run great. But most are on 4s or lower. Still,....you wont hear me bad mouthing them. Its all about dialing them in correctly. Then they will survive.

I run this setup with a HV240 445/3 in a 35" mono, not any issues at all and temps are low

the tunnel will be 35". I know several of the guys in our club run 1527's with 240 lv's in sprint cats on 6s for q-offshore, but this will be a different setup so I wasn't sure if everything would live. I quess I will find out.
