    Nats 2012?

So in the past, at the end of the Nats Race it was talked about where the next years nats would be. Any info?

We've been stalling on announcing the details on the P Shooter this July too. Well, I have. Wanted to let the nats dust settle first.

I think you know my thoughts on the nats. Give me a rang if you need ta.

electrics running at nitro nats would be fun but nitros are incomparable to electrics of the same hull size
too much power not in the FE racing dictionary

Exhibition is cool but I hope we don't end up with a gigantomongous combined nats.

Terry, In the spirit of full disclosure it should be brought to light that these "exibition class" races are, in some part, a way to attract some of the IC racers to the FE fold. This is already happening to a small degree and is a welcome occurrance here in L.A., where FE heat racing can certainly use some increase in its ranks until it can stand on it's own. The 2011 NAMBA Nat's are already a nine day event (including open water practice on the first Friday) so combining this extravangaza with an FE Nat's isn't a likely plan to occur given the logistics

                        Right on.

Maybe we should consider running a couple gas or nitro exhibition classes at an FE nats. Return the favor. Although, they don't really have a shortage of interest that they need help with.

                        I can't imagine a 13+ day nats. No thanks. I wouldn't wish it on a district either.

Oddly enough, in past years I was given the green light to run some FE heats during district gas/nitro events on the "nitro day" because the nitro classes were pretty thin and the FE FE heats could fill out the class roster. ( I never could pull together enough entries to get it going). Now that Jeff at Insane is promoting his FE boats, some of his "Mob" are jumping in and that's the seed that's germinating the FE classes. Funny thing is, now that you mention the concept of inviting some IC guys to run at FE events , I find a hidden bias I have against this popping up I better swallow some "fairness" pills !

There is definite interest in FE by the nitro guys. I know of at least one avowed 'nitro forever' racer that showed up to watch the FE nats and it was NOT a short drive for him to come over. In addition, we have a local "racing association" that puts on several races a year. They have approached our FE club to add three FE classes to their series! All to work out is which three. We're thinking OPC Ltd, LSH, and Q open (mono or cat)

                            This is gonna be great!

Now as far as FE combined at the Nitro Nats? It would take two weeks to run all the classes! That's the main reason it wouldn't make sense IMHO.

I'm bias against noisey. I think I have sensory issues. Gotto get over it if I want the opportunity to run at fuel events. A weeks worth+ of that might send me off the deep end.

If you guys ran the speckies and then a Q sport you would be running the same thing that we do up here in MI. Q sport is over the top speed and tech without totally emptying out the wallet. It's still a little pricey but the speed is pretty awesome.
