    Apache 24 upgrades?

I have a Proboat Apache 24 and I want to make it a little faster. Is there any cheap esc and motor I can throw in there from Hobbyking or something that'll work?
    Thanks Tim

Since you are asking for HK stuff specifically, this motor will really wake it up..........i have several and they are very good for the money.......they're vented on each end as well. Run it on 4s.

throw this esc in your order, real workhorse.

Don't get anything higher than that 1800 Hk motor or it will be too fast to be functional. Use the Shockwave BL motor coupler. Buy a cooing can from OSE. Have fun!! :)

With the program box. You can also do it with the transmitter but it's like reading morse code. Easier to just spend the few extra bucks for a programmer.

Yeah, that 1800 will make the boat friggin scream.................you may want to consider a little milder motor for 4s...............still will make it rock!

Yeah I don't want to put much money in it at all. So that motor would be perfect but the 120A esc seemed a little over kill for that boat. Anything a little smaller? I mean all I'd probably run in it would be at max, probably 3s. So I don't really need anything special

Its the best bang for the buck out there...............the 60a version is 10 bucks more, get the 120 and give yourself some breathing room and let it run nice and cool.

Something along a lines of a 2860 2500kv to 3000kv on 3s would work nicely too. I had a similar motor to this one in mine and it went really well, high 20s to mid 30s depending on the prop. Mine was heavy as I reinforced it with a couple layers of glass. installed a flex shaft and new rudder. Spent a nice chunk to make it go though. Get the 120a seaking/turnigy too. You can always use them, they are great escs for the money.

Here is the link for the motor, sold out now but you can find similar ones on ebay.

If you want some more speed out of the box on the apache use a 40 or 42mm carbon fiber prop from OSE. Much, much faster but you have to watch the temps. Here is my old one box stock with a 5000mah NIMH duratrax, 42mm prop.

With a 2s lipo it would move a bit better too.
