They didn't vent at that charge rate? they might be ok but I wouldn't reccomend those kind of charge rates.4 to 5 amps max especially if you are a sport runner.

The GPs will not be able to handle a full charge cycle at 7 amps. They will get way too hot by the time they are done. Perhaps some software does start at 7 amps and drops that rate over time, that would reduce the charge time.

What really matters on these high amp charges is what delta peak the charger is set at. I have not done it myself but I know plenty of people who charged them at 6 amps with no problems. 1 to 2 amps is too low even for sport running. 4 amps does a very good job and gets the cells slightly warm which is what you want when putting them in the boat.

i alternate between 1 / 3.3 and 5 amps... usually more in the 5 amps range... hell, who doesn t love the extra speed ?? :)... typically i set the delta peak at 35..

The higher rate you charge the batteries at the shorter life they will have. You will gain quicker charge rate times but at the cost of the packs life expectancy.

4 amp charge rate is ideal, so after they are charged they are lightly warm it ideal.

                  :)
