    Catamaran with twin jet drives?

Has anybody seen one or thought about building one?

I have a call for a boat without propellers, so need to learn about jet drives to see if it can be done.

Sizes, power, gearboxes. Need info on all of it.

I really like the idea, Ben. You think the rear would stay planted enough to keep the jets primed?

No clue. I'm amazed they work on v-hulls actually. Might need to make a scoop to keep them wet?

      Who makes them?

I've see the Graupner and the one for HK, but I'm sure there's more out there.

I don't know who makes them. Maybe do a search here and on eBay?

Best bet is to go with the Graupner units. Some are are here on OSE shop and at http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/...upner_jet.html . Now to find one in the appropriate size... Can't help you there mate, sorry.

Need to know what size of boat are you talking about. It can be done with the drives located in the sponsoons. Need to have a flat and square transom for mounting the nozzle/stator assembly. Graupner makes units. The cornwall model boats site is excellent for obtaining those. Nqd also makes some but is basically a knock off of the Graupner mini jet mostly obtainable by buying one of the their jet boats though sometimes available by themselves through ebay. Kehrer also makes some starting in the 28mm range. Here is their sitehttp://www.jet-drive.de/ One problem that may arise is cavation in the drive located on the outside of a turn.

Actually haven't planned a hull, but you're exactly right, the sponsons will need to be flat on the bottom and the transom should be flat on the back.

The mean machine has flat bottoms and a flat transom. Perhaps there's some bigger hulls that are about the same.

A stepped hull can be used as well as long as the rear part is flat enough to mount the intake to.

The Thundercat31 hull is 31" with flat bottomed sponsons probably wide enough for a jet unit...
