Which is better Graupner or AquaCraft OB

Picked a old MRP tunnel in need of power for my 11 yr old son. I run all brushless, nitro & weedwacker power in my boats so this will be his first. Which outboard would be best suited for this application the Graupner GTX 650 or the AquaCraft EP1? It will have a RC Hydro ESC & run on 7.2v.

if only running a 6 cell battery i really dont think it matters just which one looks cooler on the boat you could easily up grade the motor and not have a problem

correct me if im wrong, but the ep1 is newer and you can get parts for it easier if it ever breaks. plus i think they sell really well on ebay.

Well when I was researching doing a Twin outboard Cat --- everyone recommended the EP1 because its gear driven!

If you scroll thru my build thread titled Here Kitty kitty Kitty you can see all the commments! I'll bump t5he thread to the top!

        Good luck

This is correct. The Ep1 will eat up gears so be prepared to buy spares. The Graupner GTX850 can handel beushless motors but there are a couple things you need to know about it. It weighs about 2 pounds & an adaptor plate is needed to use 540 or 36mm motors. Astec models has them. Yet another option is a Rek outboard. They can stand up to brushless motors with no problems but do not have cowlings. Some of ths scale look is lost. I bet the motor cover/cowling from the mrp unit could be adapted
