    Working with carbon fiber?

What epoxy should i use, or will just any epoxy work? what kind of prep do i need to do. I plan on using it to reingorce a plastic hull but i also want it to look good.

Their are many different makes of resin suitable for this use, West 105 resin & 205 or 206 hardener being one of them. What you need is a laminating type epoxy which is quite thin that you apply with a brush & not the 2 part epoxy glues/adhesives that are for bonding & very thick. You need to roughen the surface with abrasive paper & wipe clean before applying. Martin.

You need to be carefull as to whether epoxy is suitable to bond to plastic also.

The Epoxy needed is called laminating resin, finishing resin or skinning resin all different names for the same thin resin that soaks into cloth easily.
What plastic? Epoxy doesn't like sticking to ABS, you can spread a layer of Cyno onto the hull leave to dry then laminate the epoxy onto that or laminate directly with Cyno.
