    Too hot still help!

Hey all, Ive got a aeromarine Titan 40, with a 12XL motor, barracuda 125 esc, and Im running it 3s lipo in series. The esc states that it will go up to 6's. The first run I had with the boat the esc got up to 160 F. So I took chris fines advice at fine design and JB welded two brass tubes along side the small heat sink on the ESC. Today I had the boat out, ran it for 8-10 min MAX, I brought it in and the esc was at 160F, the Motor was at 130F, and both 3s lipos were at 90F.. Too hot? seems it. This is my first fast electric, Let me know what what you think, also when the boat was at wot, it "bounced" a bit, maybe lower the trim tabs a bit? heres some pics of the setup.. Thanks Paul

LiPos at 90 deg are fine.
    Motor temp is borderline OK....
    Controller temp is to hot....

8-10 minutes is a long time for running a FE Boat...heat will build up.
    What prop are you running?
    What brand of motor?

Eight to ten minutes is too long for most FE boats without building up high temps. The only thing really hot is the motor, Fiegaos are not very efficient so the high temp is not a surprise. Take a shot of the transom frmo the side sowe can see the strut depth and angle. Also measure where the CG is relative to the transom.

My Titan 40 races on 4S with a Neu 1521/1.5D at 54 mph - but I'd never run it for more than three minutes....

Another bit of advise - don't take advise from fine design. JB Weld doesn't transfer heat either.

Well, after talkin to some folks at rumrunner, the tubes are off along with the JB, There's a fellow on here that sent me a PM who makes custom water cool heat sinks, I thought MY temps had droped but that's not the case, I try the other route, and will post pics of the transom tonite, thanks for the help guys
