Question for PT Stealth Sport 20 hull owners

    Hey guys,

I am looking at getting a PT Stealth from Phil. It sounds like many of you are finding it challenging to get the CG far enough forward. Has anyone tried to fit to smaller 4S packs? Not so much for the capacity, but for the extra weight forward. I am wondering if the “tub” is even deep enough, so you can still get the cowling taped down.

Another question: has anyone tried to lay out the motor as far forward as possible and then put the batteries in-between the stuffing tube. I am going to guess that you run into the same problem with getting the CG far enough forward.

    Thanks,
    Mike

You can put lead inside the sponson tips. Bird shot, fishing weights, bullets, etc. mixed with epoxy.

I ran last season with 2 2s Flightmax 5800 packs. This season I have 2 4s 4300 Hyperion packs. They just fit under the hatch if I move them back about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch from the front of the tub. When I layed out and built my boat I put the motor and COG so I could run 2 2s or 2 4s packs. Can't tell you how it handles with the extra weight as I have not had a chance to run them yet.
You probably could place the motor all the way forward. There is a recess in the forward section of the tub where the motor could fit. Another option MIGHT be to place the packs through the openings and inside the sponsons. Although they would probably be hard to get in and out. Just throwing that out there as a possible option.

        Hi Mike,

I went through all the CG issues you've probably read about on OSE.. and more =) but I finally got it right. I sold my Stealth last week but have another one on order. My Stealth should be here next week and I'll detail the build and post here on OSE. I can't explain here, without photos, all that I learned from that build but I think I've got it right now and should be able to provide a decent build thread on the next one. It's a really fun boat!! I ran two 5050mah 4s2p-- HEAVY packs..

Maybe, one of the guys from the winter warm ups can post on their set ups, I believe Dan Proulx. and Pete B. had them they were very quick.

              yeah it would!

I don't remember either one of those boats having the insides butchered to place the batteries in the sponsons either.

I never said to butcher the inside to put the batteries in the sponsons. I just mentioned it as a possible idea.

Super sport or stealth sport? i always wonder is it a different animal altogether between the two hull? anyway my COG on Supersport is about 14 inch from the transom. Ran on 4s2p 4000mah 40C. not having luck 3000mah batteries tends to get very flighty

                          Hey Shooter,

I have the 40 size SuperSport that is being built for Q sport hydro. Yesterday I ordered a 20 sized Sealth Sport hydro from Phil. I plan to set it up for P-Limited Sport Hydro and P Sport Hydro...

Your right, we need to hook up soon.

                          Later,
                          Mike

15.5"-16.5" from the transom per Phil's setup sheet.

Very cool. I bet both will be great running boats. The supersport is darn near 1/8 scale, isn't it? What is the length and width?
