    Connector Question

It's time to dump my deans and go to 5mm. I see there are EC5 connectors that look pretty good and are polarized or I could just buy some 5 or 5.5 bullets.
My question is if I go the bullet route is it normal to polarize the connectors one male one female in each set or just go two female and two male in pairs and use protector caps to prevent accidental shorting of the batteries?

    Thanks in advance
    Peter

Seems that most go with the "Red hot female" approach. You definitely have to pay attention when connecting up though to keep from shorting the battery. I still use protector caps when not in use just to be safe.

    Here's a wiring pic.

Go to gold bullet connectors, 5.5mm. Put the FEMALE on the positive side of the battery, thus the "Red Hot Female" The male will be on the positive side of the esc. I remember that by thinking "screw the red hot female" ;-)

OK I got it red female with shrink tube for protection and black male preferably with a removable "safety" cap to reduce accidental shorts when battery not in use.

I see no one has mentioned EC5 connectors so I am assuming they are not as popular as the bullet method?

thinking about converting to ec5's or ec6's if the have em. Too many close calls with the bullets for me, ruined a pack or two shorting them out. I guess I'm not careful enough either.

Where can you get protector caps? I used to like the 4mm bullets with the red protectors but they melted a couple times on me.

I switched to ec5's for this season. The second time I shorted out a battery I said enough. Love em so far.

This is absolutely the best deal! It's what I use. $10.64 for 100! Shipping is a bit high, $13 I think for 200. Another club member and I go together and order 100 each at a time.
