Love it! Highlite of my summers as a kid was going out on my uncles lobster boat.
Don't know if it wasn't in season but we hauled cod in August not lobster.

rip it out, take off everything, I don't know if it has a turn fin but take it off and make a new one, the hull might not be reliable over 40mph, but you would have to change everything because the components just arent strong enough

You won't see me laughing. I just picked up 2 NQD speed storm hydros w/vector steering and radios. At $10.00 a piece I will get them going and give them away to a couple of kids that show an interest in RC boats.

That's not much help, what should I replace them with, Motor esc ?

something around 2000kv, on 4S. If theres room for that, run a swordfish 240, or maybe the t120 or t180. just my 2cents, im not as experienced as some guys out here, you may want to wait for them to chime in

Sorry no experience with this type of setup so my opinion would be completely useless. But I do know you don't need those ESC it would be a complete waste of money for the size of motor this will end up running!
I like following these upgrade threads, some nice boats out there, just not quite FE grade!
LOL was wondering if this thread turned into one about your lobster boat!

Feigao 540L, AQ 60a speedo, 4s, x 438........small prop but the boat is so narrow it gets squirelly with anything larger.

I do have a feigao 540 12L, 2159kv. What esc would work? Thinking of using a Zdrive,I have one on a mono,works good. Larry

One of those was my first dabble into fast boats back in 2007.
Had an Ammo 2300 in it on 12 NiMh cells. Prop was a Graupner 40mm I think. ESC was from an SV27.
Jeez it looks slow now. But at the time it seemed pretty quick.
