External BEC

Anyone have good luck with external BEC setups on a FE ? Looking at Demension
Engeneering Sport BEC to cut some wieght on a new build.

I've have that BEC and it had never failed on me over several years of running. Very dependable. But if you notice I said "had". I no longer run BEC's for several reasons. The biggest reason is I started noticing that when a BEC fails it usually puts full battery voltage into your Rx. So you got a 6S pack? The Rx gets the full 22volts.

Now the only ones I have seen fail seem to be the Castle BEC's. Dont know why. But those have been reported here on OSE.

And the second reason I decided to dump all my BEC's is I dont run any small hulls anymore where weight was an issue. Everything I own has no problem toting along the extra ounces of a Rx battery pack.

I use the Dimension and Castle BECs with great success. Not one problem in 3yrs.
