    UHMW plastic for OB mount?

I have the brackets from an old dubro 3.5 mount.
Do you think UHM bearing plastic would be strong enough for the pivot part of the mount?
Easy to machine, wondering if it's worth the time though.
Going on a 24" Dumas HotShot, not going to over power it as I know these hulls aren't the greatest, couldn't resist for 20$ and some repair time though!
Might also try the plastic for the motor adapter. Just need to buy the collet then.
Got a K&B lower for cheap with a prather 215 prop.
Might be able to get this done for under 100$ including motor less electronics.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

If I were you I wouldn't bother. You can buy the entire adapter kit from OSE made by Hyper performance. It includes the mount, the coupler, and the bolts for $35

I know I can just buy the parts! I want to know if people think the plastic will be strong enough.
I can make the pivot/mount part out of aluminum or the plastic, would take about 10 minutes and I have the material.
I enjoy making my own hardware, why pay someone to do something I really enjoy, and if I don't use it I've wasted a lot of good money on tools and equipment!
