    Hacker 77 & KB 45

Will the Navy Hacker 77 ESC (the water cooled one with the black heat sink) work with a KB 45 motor... Any idea of the settings or would they be the same as the hacker?

DO NOT use a controller rated less than 100 amps on a KB. I have used a HV 100 amp, but you need to be real careful. These motors will draw a lot of amps.

The Amps will be less as it will be on a large scale project with a gear box. Either a 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 reduction with somewhere between 12-20 volts. Not a racer of any type.

I have used a jeti 77 amp HV controller on 24 cells with a Fiegao 14XL. Speeds around 40mph using 50 - 70 amps, direct drive. I have not tried the KB on a trans. It has a 6mm shaft that might be hard to find in a gearbox???

Remember that turning the rotor will void any motor warranty.

It will work just fine. Stay within the voltage and amp rating. It would be best on your first run to frequently check the temps of your setup.

The Hacker 77 has a safety thermal cut-off so if it's pushed to hard, it will heat up and shut down until it cools. If you get that far, you're obviously pulling too many amps.
