Traxxas Velineon Esc with Neu Mtr

Looking at it's specs Continuous current: 200A Peak current: 320A I'm wondering if it's enough of an ESC to run a Neu 1509 or a 1512 on 3s2p

I can't be 100% sure but 99% of the time car & truck esc specs are very inflated. They do that because the applications they where designed for are far less demanding than marine use. Look at some of the claims made for the cheap garbage escs sold on ebay and you will see what I'm saying.

Yea, especially those Chinese garbage.....But the Velineon loooked tempting with those specs, at it's price and amp range.

I was going to test it. I can't now because I seem to be buying every boat I see.

is the esc sensorless? most rc cars use sensored motors/escs, the neus are sensorless motors

              get a hydra 240.

Not to sure how the traxxas would like a 4or 6 pole motor.
as for 200 amps I think thats BS,

Jeepers. the only sensor system i know of is novak and a feigao series .
Most esc's and motors are sensor less.

Auto-detects and compatible with brushed, sensorless brushless and sensored brushless motors

I looked into that. I was going to run the complete traxxas brushless system on a gear drive. It looked like you can unsolder and reverse the motor wires to face in the opsite direction. Then an ose jacket would work. As for the esc I was going to thermal epoxy an mhz cooling block to the heat sink. I wouldent use that system on a boat over 25 inches with out gear reduction.

SJ I'm not interested in the Motor, just the ESC..I'd like to try it with a Neu Motor...Or even a 6 or 7 turn Feigao L with a x637 on 3s

I wouldent bother. It's only rated @ 3s. There are far cheaper esc's that can handel a neu.
