Was looking at their motors and just wondered which 50 series if any r used in large boat applications?

What is the typical sized boats these these big motors used in?

What voltage r they run at to get functional rpms? What r the functional rpms for these big motors?

A lot will depend on what you mean by "large" boats. The most popular large Scorpion used is the HK4035/800. I have seen it in boats around 40"-45" in length. This motor runs on 10S well, but like all outrunners it will not handle the very high amperage that good inrunners will handle. Some are successful racing the Scorpions - I guess - but most make decent sport setups. I would not want to run one over 30,000 rpm.

I run a 4025/1100 on 6S1P in a 35" cat with good success as a sport boat. It was over 10 mph slower than my race setup in the same boat - a 1527/1Y on 6S2P.

Not looking to race. I have considered the 50 series scorpions but did not know if anyone used them. They make between 4-5k of watts with a 540k rating and on 12s packs. That gives about 23-24k rpms and with a big prop should make for a nice sporting boat?????? Looking to put it in a 48" Rico Offshore Mono. What r your thoughts??
