try rcgroups, maybe there is an article there with images. Myself, I use a heat sink on the tabs when soldering. It's just a small clip with smooth edges so the tabs are not damaged. 2S is simply soldering negative to positive and using the other + and - for the leads. 3S is the same - + - + - + The positive electrode is not nickel unless you buy cells that have it added on.
