    Dual Leopard 4082 Questions

Hey guys im looking into a pair of leopard 1000kv leopard 4082s on 10s turning 47mm props in a Dual DF 45" Sniper. Id like some suggestions especially if anyone has any experience with these motors.

Also Im trying to save some money and want to go with 2 Turingy HV 80A ESCs, are these good enough to run this setup?

I dont know how well that setup will work, but the thought of twin 4082's on 10s has me droolin'! The 80a hv's will not run those motors with any decent size prop.

Well on such a low KV motor running HV and in duals Im thinking they will be pulling way less amps. 3500 peak watts on the 4082 divided by 40 Volts is about 87 peak amps and I know it can go higher than that but I think the fact that I am running duals will keep the peak draw within tolerences of the ESC. Im very confindent that the average amp draw will also be much lower then 80 amps.

Maybe I would be better off on 6s running a higher KV with the Turingy 180s?

I was gonna suggest that, would be alot cheaper than a couple of Etti 100hv's or SF240's. The 4082 4D would be sweet on 6s!

Well I got the hull and most of the hardware in. Im going 6s with 47mm props to start with.

Do you think I can go with .150 flex shafts? or will I need .187's?

Is 47mm a good place to start?

                            Thanks Make a wake,

Also Steve said he should be getting Hughey CR .187 cables this week so ill prob go with those unless it takes too long.

Now what about this prop size? Any suggestions?

I have been using the .150 flex cable with 4082; 2000Kv with 4S upto 6S for 2 months with no problems.
However, I believe it also depends on how you set it up for example when I set my strut a little high, the prop takes less load.
The only problem I had was that the flex cable slipped and burned the collet which I didn't tighten it enough.
