Trying to figure out which one is better being that most of my Esc's I've lost are from some sort of water damage...the specs are basically the same.

I asked this question a while back and the answer I got was the Hydra's use better fets than the Cuda. That is the main difference besides the water cooling on the hydra. Also the Cuda's are now discontinued so unless you get a smoking deal on the cuda I would opt for the Hydra.Team Liquid Dash -

Both esc's are water protected in the same manner. The later Barracuda 125 has the same fets and board design as a Hydra 240.Steven Vaccaro

Castle's site still lists a flat rate repair fee for both Barracudas.Comment

If anyone has a Cuda that is one year old or less can exchange it for the new Hydras FOR FREE (if it is a Cuda 125) and with a small fee you can even replace your Cuda 80 of a year old or less. If you want to do this HURRY since they are on sale and have limited quantities available...
I have gotten mine already.:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::Comment

I have 2/ CC125's that are 6 months old and a CC80 that is 9-10 months old, so I can exchange these for the Hydra's???Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!Comment

I think they are swapping blown esc's if they cant be repaired. Also they are swapping B80's for h120's and b125's for h240's. If I had a new version b125 I would stick with it.Steven Vaccaro

They are probably replacing what they have with equivalents until the stock of Barracudas runs out.Steven Vaccaro
