The boat feels like it has a good heft to it which will be great for the higher speeds. I think because his background is gas boats, he seems to build a very strong hull.
    I can second this statement.

I just got my hull yesterday and I can tell you that I have never owned a hull so well made. This is my first Insane hull and I can tell you now that it will not be my last! If anybody has any doubt about the quality of this hull I can assure you that you will not be dissapointed. It's worth every penny!!!!!

I am pumped to get this one together and on the water.

I saw Jim's hull for the first time today - the first Insane FE mono I've touched. What a great job the Cali crew did making this one! Quality matching what we used to see from Hydro & Marine years ago before they started building in Yugoslavia or where ever. Can't wait to see how Jim rigs his, if it comes out like his FE-30 did - wow!

Does it have a heavier layup than say a Delta Force 33?

        Great looking hulls!

I will not start the build right away because I am waiting on a few parts and I have a rigger I am working on as well.
          Both looking good.

Not sure. I have a motor mount coming in from a guy in France who is making some nice looking aluminum mounts. I was thinking about using a speedmaster stinger (have had good luck with those). Might go back and take a look at some of the Insane hardware. I used his hardware on the FE30 I have and its been great.

Interested. Is there some picture of an example of that on a boat? Might be a good color scheme...

A hull in White is $200 ; add $10 for color. As of now there is no dedicated hardware for the 34" mono.

The Insane hulls, both the FE 30 and the Mono are as solid as a rock. At WWVII my pit guy launched my P-Sport FE 30 in very shallow water and the turn fin kicked up. I of course didn't know that it had happened; on turn one in the mill lap I couldn't get turned-thought my servo stuck. By the time I got it turned the pack was going into turn two with about nine seconds on the clock. I lit it up on the back straight to catch up and instead of carving the turn-two buoys I rammed straight into the mossy dirt bank at full chat. A few gelcoat spiders and that was all !
Joe [Questtek] lost his radio and ran his FE 30 into a rock wall/bank at at least 15-20 mph. You could hear that dreaded "bonk" from across the water. No structural damage, gelcoat got a little messed up.

Recently, on a choppy, windy day I was screwing around with my 34" mono; the stinger adjustment had loosened and it was riding way too loose. It blew over, slammed down upside down and backwards. Sucked the hatch off (I now have rear hatch fasteners) and slammed the water hard enough to break my full-length rails completely free from the bottom. Not a scratch to the hull.

In answer to your question about DF hulls, I stuffed my Cyberstorm during a race a while ago, when it came back up the hull had split open like a ripe pistachio nut.

I know what you're thinking, and yes, I'm "hard" on my rigs No more wood boats for me - I already have enough toothpicks

Tony is way too kind............it was pilot error and not loss of radio when my Insane Hydro hit the wall! I covered the spider cracks with decals so the boat looks and runs like it never kissed the dreaded retaining wall. Seems like we have a "fiberglass magnet" on one area of the lake I live on that is part of a concrete retaining wall. There have been at least 5 boats that have tried to mate with it including a brand new twin Neu powered cat that was fortunately not mine. It hit the wall at near full speed and it basically exploded, blood, teeth and eyeballs all over the lake!

Jeff designs and manufactures some of the best hulls available. With the great pleasure I have had from his Insane Hydro I plan to get one of his new Monos and put a 1717, 1580 KV I have in the box. Naturally Tony and Mark F will help me set it up!

                          Finally....

The finished product. Pretty basic build on the interior, nothing fancy. I had MonoJeff make some custom graphics and I am please with the results. I always liked the way the Traxxas boats looked,(just not how they were built), so I went with that theme. Hope you like it.

By the way I have run the boat three or four times now. Before the graphics. Just working out the kinks. Handles great and the Neu motor runs cool as always.

Very nice, now I have to spend some retirement dollars on another hull to add to my fleet
