    converting brushed to brushless

Hi all i know i should have put this in the rio section but way more people view this.
Anyways my rio has been sitting under covers all stripped out waiting for a new powerplant and me to get more money lol.

I just still cant make my mind up on how to power it wether to keep it brushed or make it brushless using a 1800kv motor and 60 amp esc to keep it mild.

Anyways the reason why i cant make up my mind is because i was worried id have to change the drive setup to a stinger etc i just dont have the ability to do so.

I just wanted it to give it a nice power up and not go extreme coz thats what im getting the motley crew for it would just be nice to finally get it on the water lol.

It is getting a new motor mount and other goodies also with the brushless option id share the batteries between the motley and this and i have to buy a lipo charger for that anyways instead of buying a seperate charger then again there pretty cheap lol.

Basically im just worried the driveline not being a stinger will make the boat go too crazy and frustrating to drive cheers.

Now you see the full extent of my dilemma lol

In same boat with rio ep and stock setup but tweaked some.
but for you to be mild like 2s or 3s your kv needs to be like 2600 to 3000 max.
Good prop for me so far is 40x53 grim but its worked some.
    ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

hi lenny i was lookin at a 2100 kv anyways what tweaks did you make i will be keeping the stock prop for a little bit so not to shell out 50 bucks for a good prop but after some more research and digging around i can get a good package deal on a s600 brushed motor and traxxas XL10 marine esc and other goodies off an aquaintence which would be much more straight forward at this time and easier on the wallet lol so thats the plan for now

Had s600 burned up the brushes in it,
Back to stock motor and esc, Good tweak! running 5.5 bullets from cells to esc and 3.5 to motor, 2s 1p 7.4v 5050mah and for more speed 8.4 7 cell nimh 3000mah, modded one rudder and bracket and moved to right and out 4" modded, bottom of boat sanded with #400grit, prop shaft moved out from stuffing tube 1/2", and prop for now 40 x 53 mod s & b. Grim.

            just some other questions

1 will the sv27 stinger work with the stock flex or will i have to change the flex and stuffing tube to the sv27 ?

or is there a stinger and teflon liner that will work with the stock stuffing tube and flex shaft and how would i go about fitting the stinger, other parts etc ?

2 what props will fit the stock rio shaft ?

3 will the stock driveline take the power of the 380 motor ? and still go ok at least till i replace it to sv27 spec or similar
i will be using a better motor coupler though

            4 what size F/E rudder should i use ?

sorry about all the questions lol
