36" hydro setup????

Hi just a quick question for all you guru's out there

I have been running a 36" hydro with a Leopard 5692 1300kv, Swordfish 240HV ESC on 6s Lipo, have been using a X447 prop, run times have been about the 10 min mark and the motor/ESC and Lipo come back only just warm to touch.

Question is : Is this prop a little on the small side? Is there any good prop to start with?

For that setup I'd say the prop is pretty small. For higher speeds - and shorter run times - try an x455. That motor can handle a lot more prop than an x447. As always, check your temps carefully for the first run or two, and make those runs short.

Depends on how the hull is handling, what kind of hydro?
I know with my 1/10 scale thats a bit over 34" I'll be running a smaller prop than my setup can handle, but it'll be about all the hull can handle. It's a shovelnose.
Bigger prop, speeds will go up but so will heat and run time will go down.
My preference is for a little slower boat that is stable and handles well. It's easy to beat the boats that are upside down!
It's really easy to overpower and over prop hulls with todays power.
Your boat is about the right size for 1/10 scale hydro, they are racing those on 4s with a UL-1 motor and about a 45mm prop.
None in my area to race against so I stuck a motor in it I bought for another boat.
It really comes down to how the hull is working with the current setup.

I agree with Jay as the OP said runtimes are 10min and the system comes back warm to the touch
That X455 prop should really wake things up for him...

Thanks heaps guy's, it is an older 40 sized sport hydro i had laying around, i think i may have to try like a X450 then move up to a X455, as i am running it only fun i do not want to have to go out and burn something up.
I will post some pictures today so you may be able to tell me where i may be Wrong/ Right.
