Best Boat Set up

Hi,
I race with a few mates and things are getting very competitive. I am new to this sport (its great) and I'm trying to get my head round the best set ups.

I have a 1.1 meter v hull boat and have kitted it out with a Leopard 4082 1500KV motor, a 180 Turnigy Marine ESC and an Octura 447 Prop (i also have 442 and 440 if you think they would be better?). What batteries and in what formation (single, series or parallel) do you think would be the best set up. Also the deans connectors I use seem to melt occassionaly and I was wondering whether there is anything better?

first ditch those deans and get 5.5 or bigger bullet connectors, those deans cant handle the current draw.

what battery setup are you using now, volts-mah-c rating
can you get temps of your electronics after a run

At the moment I am running two turnigy 5000 mah 25-35C 4S in parrellel. The boat goes OK but is not really fast. Overheating doesnt seem to be a problem.

As ststed get rid of the Deans, Most running the 4082 1500kv & T180 esc use 6s. Martin.

Would be two 3S 5000 mah in series with the highest burst rates I can find?

Also what Prop would you suggest. The biggest I have (Octura 447) or one of the smaller ones?

Flat out the boat leans over to one side. What is the best adjustment to correct?

I also get a massive Rooster tail which I suspect says the set up is wrong?

Centre of gravity starting point of 30% from rear with strut nutral angle, 2 x 3s in series. Try & go for 40c or higher lipos. They can list to the right because of propeller torque so you want more weight over to the left side, Assuming it listing to the right. Thats looking from the rear of the boat. Martin.

There are 4 metal adjustable trim tabs and two turn fins. Should I move these?

Start with your trim tabs at neutral (level with your hull) see how it runs. If you put them down your bow goes down put them up bow goes up. It does not take much so make small adjustments. Pictures of boat and set up help out.
