    shorten motorwires?

Is it OK to shorten the wires on a brushless motor? I've read some manufacturers instructions that say no but I don't see why. I'm trying a tight fit and need to shorten the esc/motor wiring as much as possible. Was also thinking of actually soldering the esc/motor wires together for reliability and reduced resistance. I've got some heavy duty uninsulated crimp barrels that I could then solder. Any thoughts or info? Thanks.

What motor is it? One way to kind of tell, is that if the motor wire is very stiff, its probably part of the windings and you cant cut it. Because the windings have a coating on them, that you can not solder to. They have a special tool to remove that coating on the last 1/4" or so.
