    wire drive question

quick question when using a wire drive should you use a small gap between the stinger and dog drive for flex or do you use a thrust washer between the the stinger and dog drive and keep them tight. what im trying to ask is do wire drive's have any flex in them like flex cables do? thanks for any replies......

Wire drives don't "shrink" like a flex cable can. I just use a gap about the thickness of a matchbook cover on my wire drives. You can also use a thrust washer between the strut and drive dog.

I use JW wire drives on everything that I can....leave no gap, but it's nice to also use a teflon washer between drive dog and strut to protect hardware from wearing or scoring....
