    flood chamber make

alright i have always wanted a flood chamber and would like to install in a pursuit mono i bought one with rails and will use the left rail as the guide for the chamber.

-what is the key for a good flood chamber?
-will centering all my parts help or hurt the roll over?
-how long long will the chamber have to be i dont want to use any weights if i dont have to.

    Stevo.
    Have a read through this.
Jan is an accomplished racer in the Netherlands & all his boats are fitted with flood chambers. It's the European way in most of their racing, to have a flood chamber.
I'm sure it will help you.

    Cheers.
    Paul.

Normally with a flood chamber boat you also keep more weight against the chamber side of the boat ie lipo, esc to help with selfrighting. It also helps with how the hull runs especially in turns because the weight added to the left of the boat helps with counter torque roll. Martin.

Here's my build thread for a Toysport Syncron with a flood chamber-- you can see how I set up the components. Bascially, one lipo against the flood wall standing on edge (with straps), the other in the nose on the left side floor. That gave enought weight on the left side to get her to roll over without any additional weights. While the boat is left hand heavy, it handles well with smaller props and at least the weight on the left side counters the prop torque a bit (things would be worse with flood chamber on right side with a left-hand prop).

        At the moment she's running a neu 2200 kv motor on 2 x 2S1P with a x630 prop and breaking 50mph.

I also have a tenshock mono1 hull with a flood chamber, and that one actually does not need to turn all the way over when capsized-- it lists to the side, but since the prop is still in the water I can blip the throttle and the forward motion pushes it upright. Something to be aware of-- if your setup allows the prop to still be in the water when it is "sideways".

When the mono capsizes, the flood chamber fills with water and turns the boat back over.

Here's an early test run I did with my Syncron that demonstrates how it works.

I will never own or run a boat without a flood chamber !!
(or at least Self-Righting like a Barbwire')
After running 6 LiPo packs and wiping-out many times at full speed... not once did I even see my Joysway Offshore Infinty upside-down when at rest'
