    Flex Cable question

Can you run a flex cable in reverse at very low speeds, or will you have problems?
I am wanting to use my Proboat Apache as a rescue craft, but would also like to get rid of the straight shaft and u-joint and convert to a flex shaft. I would want to use reverse for rescue operations, but only at very slow speeds.
    Any info is appreciated.

      Thanks Tom,

Kinda stole your idea on using the Apache Cat as a rescue craft.
I couldn't pass it up though, I scored it on ebay for $47, and the only problem was it had a fried ESC, which I had already.

I was thinking of going low tech for the push bar for the front of the Apache, and just cutting a couple of holes in a pool noodle and strapping it on the front of the sponsons with some rubber bands wrapped to the transom. The pool noodle should be light enough not to effect the boats ability to get on plane for a quick rescue, especially since I am running it on a 3S lipo.
Do you think that might work or should I steal your idea and try some carbon fiber kite rods?

I always kinda wondered about that too....So it sounds like it is OK to run a left hand flex in reverse to the right at low speeds.......Nice.....

Ohh, and IME rescue boats don't plane to well......The drag of the rescue cradle seems to hinder it....But with enough power I am sure you can make anything plane! good luck!

Thanks for your input, I guess planing a rescue craft isn't really a necessity anyway. I just liked the thought of a rescue cradle that could be removed easily, so I can still have fun with it. I guess that isn't too smart, because I will probably flip my rescue boat and then where will I be?
